Marital/Couples Therapy

You find yourself wondering at times, maybe everyday, if your relationship is right for you. You wish you and your partner could communicate well, perhaps like you did at the beginning or maybe better than you ever did. You wonder how to get your needs met and how to meet your partner's needs. You aren't certain that you and your partner want the same things in life. You drive each other up the wall at times, when what you really want is to love each other passionately. You are hoping there is a way to make your situation better, your relationship stronger, your commitments clearer and more loving.

Both married and unmarried couples sometimes need help to build strong relationships, or, where necessary, to help separate from one another. In couples therapy we establish common goals in the relationship and mobilize your inner wisdom and strengths to pursue those goals. We examine the historical context for you as a couple and as individuals to understand how certain behaviors and relationship patterns developed and what is maintaining them. We use your strengths to shift those behaviors and patterns in a direction that allows clearer boundaries, honest communication, and, where possible, love to flourish.
